Urfi Javed (also spelled Uorfi Javed) is an Indian television actress, reality television personality, and social media influencer. She is known for her appearances in Hindi television serials and reality shows, as well as for her unconventional fashion choices that have made her a prominent internet personality in India.

Early life and education

Urfi Javed was born on 15 October 1997 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, into a Muslim family. She completed her schooling at City Montessori School, Lucknow, and later earned a degree in mass communication from Amity University, Lucknow.[1]

She has spoken publicly about facing personal and familial challenges during her upbringing. Javed has three sisters and one brother. In later years, she stated that she does not associate herself with any religion and follows a secular outlook. In 2022, she altered the spelling of her name from "Urfi" to "Uorfi" based on numerological advice.

Career

Television career (2016–2020)

Javed made her television debut in 2016 with Sony TV’s Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania, where she played Avni Pant. She subsequently appeared in several Hindi television serials, including Chandra Nandini, Meri Durga, Bepannaah, Jiji Maa, Daayan, Saat Phero Ki Hera Pherie, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and Kasautii Zindagii Kay.[2]

These roles established her as a recurring presence on Indian television, though largely in supporting and episodic roles.

Reality television and digital fame (2021–present)

In 2021, Urfi Javed participated in Bigg Boss OTT. Although she was evicted early, her appearances generated widespread attention, primarily due to her bold fashion choices. Following the show, she gained significant popularity on social media platforms.[3]

She later appeared in various reality-based and digital programs, including MTV Splitsvilla and Prime Video’s Follow Kar Lo Yaar. In 2025, she participated in The Traitors India, where she emerged as the winner alongside Nikitha Luther.
