Sunny Kaushal (born 28 September 1989) is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films and streaming projects. He began his career as an assistant director before making his acting debut in 2016. He gained recognition with the sports film Gold (2018) and later appeared in Shiddat (2021), Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga (2023), and Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba (2024).[1]

Early life

Sunny Kaushal was born in Mumbai into a Punjabi family. His father, Sham Kaushal, is an action director in the Indian film industry, and his mother is Veena Kaushal. His elder brother is actor Vicky Kaushal.

He studied commerce before leaving his professional studies to pursue acting. He later trained through theatre and assistant direction work.[2]

Career

Sunny Kaushal started his career as an assistant director in films such as My Friend Pinto (2011) and Gunday (2014).

He made his acting debut in Sunshine Music Tours and Travels (2016). His first major recognition came with the sports drama Gold (2018), where he played Himmat Singh.

In 2020, he appeared in the Amazon Prime Video series The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye, which received positive reviews.

He later starred in: - Shiddat (2021) - Hurdang (2022) - Mili (2022) - Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga (2023) - Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba (2024)

His OTT work significantly increased his popularity.[3]
