Sharvari Wagh (born 14 June 1997), known mononymously as Sharvari, is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films and streaming projects. She began her career as an assistant director before making her acting debut in 2020. She gained recognition with Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021) and achieved her breakthrough with the horror-comedy film Munjya (2024).[1]

Early life

Sharvari Wagh was born on 14 June 1997 in a Marathi family in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her father is Shailesh Wagh, a builder, and her mother is Namrata Wagh, an architect. Her maternal grandfather was Manohar Joshi, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

She studied at The Dadar Parsee Youths Assembly High School and later at Ruparel College in Mumbai.[2]

Career

Sharvari started her career working as an assistant director on films including Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Bajirao Mastani, and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. She also auditioned for acting roles from 2014 onwards.[3]

Acting debut

She made her acting debut in the Amazon Prime Video series The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye (2020), opposite Sunny Kaushal.

Film debut and recognition

She made her film debut with Yash Raj Films’ comedy Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021), alongside Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Her performance earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female.[4]

Breakthrough

Her breakthrough came with the horror-comedy film Munjya (2024), which became a commercial success and part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe.
