Sara Arjun
Sara Arjun (born 18 June 2005) is an Indian actress who works across Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema. She began her career as a child artist and gained nationwide recognition for her role as Nila in the Tamil film Deiva Thirumagal (2011). Known for her natural performances and emotional depth, she is regarded as one of the most talented young actresses in Indian cinema.[1]
Early life
Sara Arjun was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to actor Raj Arjun. She entered the entertainment industry at a very young age and began appearing in television commercials at the age of one and a half. Before making her film debut, she had featured in over 100 advertisements, including prominent national campaigns.[2]
Career
Sara Arjun was first noticed by a talent scout while visiting a shopping mall, which led to her initial advertising assignments. Her work in commercials caught the attention of filmmaker A. L. Vijay, who cast her in the Tamil drama Deiva Thirumagal (2011). Her portrayal of a young girl with emotional sensitivity received widespread critical acclaim and brought her national recognition.
She continued her success with notable performances in films such as Ek Thi Daayan (2013), where she played the character Misha, and Saivam (2014), in which her role as Tamizhselvi was highly praised for its innocence and emotional strength. In 2015, she appeared in the Hindi film Jazbaa, portraying the daughter of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.[3]
Sara later expanded her work across regional industries, acting in the Malayalam film Ann Maria Kalippilaanu (2016) and appearing as the younger version of Nandini in Mani Ratnam’s historical epic Ponniyin Selvan I and Ponniyin Selvan II. She has also featured in short films and web projects, including Parchayee.[4]
In 2025, Sara Arjun is set to appear in the Hindi spy action thriller Dhurandhar, marking an important transition in her career as she takes on more mature roles.
