Minissha Lamba (born 18 January 1985) is an Indian actress who works mainly in Hindi films. She made her acting debut with Yahaan (2005). She is known for films like Corporate, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Bachna Ae Haseeno, and Well Done Abba.

Early Life and Background

Minissha Lamba was born in New Delhi, India, into a Punjabi family. Her parents are Kawel Lamba and Manju Lamba.[1]

She studied at Chettinad Vidyashram School in Chennai and later completed her schooling at Army Public School, Srinagar. She graduated with a degree in English from Miranda House, University of Delhi.

Career

Minissha started her career as a model while studying in college. She appeared in advertisements for brands like LG, Sony, Cadbury, Hajmola, Airtel, and Sunsilk.

During an advertisement shoot, director Shoojit Sircar noticed her and offered her a role in the film Yahaan (2005), marking her debut in Bollywood.

She later acted in films such as Corporate (2006), Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007), and Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), which became one of her most successful films.

She also appeared in Well Done Abba (2010), which received critical appreciation and won a National Film Award. Other films include Bheja Fry 2 (2011) and Joker (2012).

In 2014, she participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 8, which increased her popularity.

Personal Life

Minissha Lamba married restaurateur Ryan Tham in 2015. The couple separated and finalized their divorce in 2020.

In 2021, she made her relationship with businessman Akash Malik public.

She is known to speak multiple languages including Hindi, English, Punjabi, and French.
