Lawrence Bishnoi (born 12 February 1993) is an Indian gangster known as the leader of the Bishnoi Gang. He gained notoriety for his alleged involvement in organized crime activities, including extortion, contract killings, and high-profile criminal cases. His gang is reported to have a large network operating across India and internationally.[1]
Early life and education
Lawrence Bishnoi was born as Balkaran Brar in the village of Dutarawali in Punjab into a Hindu Jat family. He belongs to the Bishnoi community, known for its principles rooted in environmental protection.
He completed his schooling in Punjab and later moved to Chandigarh for higher education. He studied law at Panjab University, where he became involved in student politics.

Involvement in high-profile cases
Salman Khan threat
In 2018, members of the Bishnoi Gang were linked to a planned attack on actor Salman Khan. The threat was reportedly connected to the blackbuck poaching case, as the Bishnoi community considers the animal sacred.
Bishnoi later issued public threats against the actor, though no attack was carried out.
Assassination of Sidhu Moose Wala
In May 2022, Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was killed in Punjab. Members associated with the Bishnoi Gang claimed responsibility for the attack. Investigations linked the incident to the gang, though legal proceedings are ongoing.[4]
