Abhay Verma (born 27 July 1998) is an Indian actor who works in Hindi cinema. He gained recognition for his role in the web series The Family Man 2 (2021) and made his film debut with Safed (2023). He achieved breakthrough success with the comedy horror film Munjya (2024).[1]

Early life

Abhay Verma was born in Panipat, Haryana. He completed his schooling at St. Mary's Convent School.

He initially pursued Science but failed multiple times and later enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program, which he eventually left. He moved to Mumbai with his parents to pursue a career in acting.

His brother, Abhishek Verma, is also an actor.[2]

Career

2019–2021: Early work and recognition

Verma began his career with projects such as Marzi and Little Things. He also appeared in television commercials during this period.

He worked as a junior artist in the film Super 30, where he earned ₹800 per day and gained practical experience by observing filmmaking on set.

His breakthrough came with The Family Man 2 (2021), where he played Kalyan, a character involved in a major subplot. His performance brought him wider recognition.[3]

2023: Film debut

In 2023, Verma made his film debut with Safed, where he played the role of a transgender character. His performance received mixed but notable responses from critics.

2024–present: Breakthrough and rising career

In 2024, he appeared in the biographical drama Ae Watan Mere Watan. His role was noted despite the film receiving mixed reviews.

The same year, he starred in Munjya, where he played the lead role of a young man haunted by a supernatural entity. The film was a commercial success and marked his breakthrough in Hindi cinema.

He has upcoming projects including King, where he will appear alongside a major ensemble cast, and other films currently in production.[4]
