TraceX Guard is an Indian mobile security and antivirus application developed by TraceX Labs for Android devices. The application provides comprehensive protection against mobile malware, cyber fraud, and privacy threats using artificial intelligence–based detection systems. It combines antivirus protection, network security, identity monitoring, and device management tools within a single platform.

The application was launched in 2025 and is positioned as an all-in-one mobile security solution designed to address the growing threat of malicious Android applications and financial fraud in India.[1]

Overview

TraceX Guard offers real-time protection against a wide range of mobile threats, including viruses, spyware, worms, ransomware, and phishing attacks. In addition to malware detection, the app includes features such as call and SMS blocking, background process monitoring, data usage tracking, backup utilities, and anti-theft tools.

The software is compatible with Android devices running version 2.2 and above, making it accessible to both older and newer smartphones.[2]

Features

TraceX Guard integrates multiple security and privacy tools aimed at safeguarding Android users:

  • Ransomware protection – prevents file encryption and device locking caused by Android ransomware variants.
  • AI-powered threat detection – identifies malicious apps, abnormal behavior patterns, and potential zero-day threats in real time.
  • Hidden application scanner – detects spyware, stalkerware, and background apps operating without user visibility.
  • Wi-Fi and network security scanner – analyzes connected networks for vulnerabilities, unsafe configurations, and interception risks.
  • Identity protection and breach alerts – monitors possible exposure of personal data and notifies users of suspected data leaks.
  • Threat intelligence monitoring – uses continuously updated threat intelligence feeds to block newly emerging mobile attacks.

Development and purpose

TraceX Guard was developed in response to the rapid increase in Android-based cyber fraud incidents in India, particularly those involving malicious APK files shared through messaging platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram.

A large number of fraudulent applications were reported to be impersonating government and public utility services, including traffic challan platforms and transport-related services. Other malicious apps disguised themselves as invitation-based or adult-content applications to deceive users into installing harmful software.

The developers at TraceX Labs designed TraceX Guard to detect such deceptive applications before installation or execution, aiming to reduce financial fraud and data theft affecting a wide range of users, including senior citizens, professionals, law enforcement personnel, and students.

Security approach

The application employs artificial intelligence and behavior-based analysis rather than relying solely on signature-based detection. This allows TraceX Guard to identify unknown or modified malware variants and provide proactive protection against evolving threats.

The platform also emphasizes network-level monitoring and real-time scanning to ensure continuous device security without significant performance impact.

Alignment with national initiatives

TraceX Guard aligns with India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives by promoting indigenous cybersecurity solutions. The application is positioned as a domestically developed alternative to global mobile security software, focusing on threats specific to the Indian digital ecosystem.
