Nihit Mohan is an Indian-born banking professional, author, speaker and artificial intelligence (AI) practitioner based in Singapore. His professional career has included work in financial-services analytics, credit risk, stress testing and finance. His writing focuses on personal development, human potential and the relationship between artificial intelligence and human capabilities.[1]

Mohan is the author of What School Doesn't Teach You: Inferential Lessons to Achieve Your Dreams (2021) and Human Superpowers – Unlock | Unleash | Uplift (2025).

Early life and education

Nihit Mohan was born in Pune, Maharashtra, India, and grew up in different parts of the country. His educational background includes schooling in different Indian cities before higher education in Pune.[2]

He completed his higher-secondary education at Fergusson College in Pune and graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur in 2007.

His educational and professional development later moved toward analytics and financial services.[3]

Professional career

After completing his engineering education, Mohan began his professional career in analytics before developing a career in financial services.

His work has included banking analytics, retail credit risk, regulatory and enterprise stress testing, and finance. His professional profile has also associated him with banking risk and financial-services activities in Singapore.[4]

Over time, his interests expanded toward the application of artificial intelligence in finance and analytical decision-making. His work explores how AI can support financial analysis while retaining the importance of human judgement, context and accountability.

Artificial intelligence, finance and human potential

A major theme of Mohan's recent work is the relationship between artificial intelligence, finance and human potential.[5]

His writing examines the idea that increasingly capable AI systems may change the relative value of human abilities rather than simply replace them. He has highlighted qualities such as judgement, curiosity, imagination, resilience, empathy and purpose as important human capabilities in an AI-enabled environment.

This perspective connects his professional experience in analytics and risk management with his work on personal development and human potential.[6]

Writing career

Mohan began publishing personal essays and reflections online around 2020. His writing developed from observations about life skills, personal growth and capabilities that are not always addressed through formal education.[7]

What School Doesn't Teach You

What School Doesn't Teach You: Inferential Lessons to Achieve Your Dreams was published by Notion Press in July 2021.

The book discusses personal development and practical life skills, drawing on themes including imagination, gratitude, failure, stress, purpose and personal growth. The work was influenced by Mohan's experiences and conversations with mentors, colleagues, friends and family.

The book received coverage following its publication, including a report carried by The Statesman through IANS Life.[8]

Human Superpowers

In 2025, Mohan published Human Superpowers – Unlock | Unleash | Uplift.

The book explores human capabilities and personal transformation through themes including gratitude, faith, vision, positive thinking, creativity, imagination, dreams, the subconscious mind and resilience.[9]

The ideas developed in the book also connect with Mohan's later writing about human capabilities in a world increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence.

Speaking and knowledge sharing

Alongside his professional and writing activities, Mohan has participated in industry speaking, training and knowledge-sharing engagements.

His professional profile records appearances and engagements associated with financial risk management, stress testing and banking, including RiskMinds Americas, Risk.net training and the Credit Risk Management Asia Summit.

He has also participated in mentoring, teaching and discussions relating to leadership, finance and human development.

In 2022, he appeared in a TEDx event and has subsequently participated in podcast and other digital-media discussions.

Ideas and themes

Across his books, essays and public discussions, Mohan has explored the relationship between formal education, professional expertise and broader human development.[10]

His earlier writing focused on practical life capabilities that are often developed through experience. His more recent work extends this theme to artificial intelligence, examining how human qualities such as interpretation, imagination, empathy, judgement and decision-making may remain important as access to machine-generated information and expertise increases.
