Thomas Stanley Holland (born 1 June 1996) is an English actor. He is one of the highest-grossing film actors of all time, with his films earning over $9.9 billion worldwide. He has received several awards, including a BAFTA Award and multiple Saturn Awards.[1]
Early Life and Background
Tom Holland was born in London, England. From a young age, he showed an interest in performing arts. At the age of nine, he joined a dance class where his talent was noticed by a choreographer.[2]
This led to an audition for Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London. After extensive training, he secured a supporting role in 2008 and was later promoted to the lead role, which he performed until 2010.
Career
Early Career (2012–2015)
Holland made his film debut in The Impossible (2012), where he played a teenager caught in a tsunami. His performance was widely praised and earned him critical recognition.[3]
He continued acting in films such as How I Live Now (2013) and portrayed historical roles in In the Heart of the Sea (2015) and the television miniseries Wolf Hall (2015).
