Bella Hadid
Isabella Khair Hadid (born October 9, 1996), known professionally as Bella Hadid, is an American fashion model. She is considered one of the most successful and influential models of her generation.
In 2022, she was named Model of the Year by the British Fashion Council. She has appeared on more than 35 international Vogue covers and was included in Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2023.[1]
Early life
Bella Hadid was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Southern California. Her father, Mohamed Hadid, is a Palestinian-American real estate developer, and her mother, Yolanda Hadid, is a Dutch former model.
She has an older sister, Gigi Hadid, and a younger brother, both of whom are also models. Hadid grew up on a ranch in Santa Barbara before moving to Beverly Hills.[2]
As a teenager, she was passionate about horse riding and aimed to compete professionally. However, her plans were affected after being diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease in 2012.
She later moved to New York City to study photography at Parsons School of Design but paused her education to pursue modeling full-time.
Modeling career
Early career (2012–2014)
Hadid began modeling at the age of 16, working on small projects and brand campaigns. Her early work included collaborations with independent designers and fashion campaigns.[3]
In 2014, she signed with IMG Models, marking the beginning of her professional modeling career.
Rise to prominence (2014–2017)
Hadid made her New York Fashion Week debut in 2014 and quickly gained recognition in the fashion industry.
She walked for major fashion houses including Chanel, Dior, Versace, and Givenchy. In 2016, she was named Model of the Year by Models.com industry professionals.[4]
In 2017, she broke the record for the most Vogue September covers in one year, appearing in five international editions.

Hadid became one of the highest-paid models in the world, earning millions annually.
She continued to dominate runway shows, magazine covers, and global campaigns. Her influence in fashion has been described as the “Bella Effect,” referring to her impact on brand popularity and sales.
