Preeti Jhangiani (born 18 August 1980) is an Indian actress and model who works in Hindi and regional films. She became popular after her role in the film Mohabbatein.

Early Life and Background

Preeti Jhangiani was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, into a Sindhi Hindu family. Her father is Gobind Jhangiani and her mother is Menka Jhangiani. She has a sister named Deepa Jhangiani.[1]

She completed her schooling at G.D. Somani Memorial School and St. Joseph's Convent in Mumbai. She later attended Jai Hind College.

From a young age, she showed interest in acting and modeling. She started her career soon after her education.

Career

Preeti Jhangiani first appeared in the music video Yeh Hai Prem in 1997, which made her popular. She also appeared in advertisements for brands like Nirma Sandal Soap.

She made her film debut with the Malayalam film Mazhavillu in 1999. In the same year, she appeared in Telugu and Tamil films.

Her Bollywood debut came in 2000 with the film Mohabbatein, where she played the role of Kiran. The film was successful and brought her wide recognition.

She later appeared in films like Awara Paagal Deewana, LOC Kargil, and Aan: Men at Work. She also worked in Punjabi, Kannada, Bengali, and Rajasthani films.

In 2017, she acted in the Rajasthani film Taawdo The Sunlight, for which she received awards for her performance.

Personal Life

Preeti Jhangiani married actor and model Parvin Dabas in March 2008. The couple has two sons, Jaiveer Dabas and Dev Dabas.

She enjoys reading and travelling in her free time.
