Disha Patani (born 13 June 1992) is an Indian actress and model who works mainly in Hindi and Telugu films. She made her acting debut with the Telugu film Loafer in 2015. She gained recognition after her role as Priyanka Jha in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016).
Early Life and Background
Disha Patani was born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India. She belongs to a Hindu Rajput family. Her father, Jagdish Singh Patani, is a police officer, and her mother works in the health sector.[1]
She completed her education at Amity University, Noida, but left her studies in the second year of B.Tech to pursue a career in modeling and acting.[2]
Career
Disha started her acting career with the Telugu film Loafer in 2015. Although the film did not perform well, it helped her enter the film industry.
She got her breakthrough with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story in 2016. In the film, she played Priyanka Jha, the girlfriend of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Her performance was appreciated, and the film became a major success.
She later appeared in films such as Kung Fu Yoga (2017), Baaghi 2 (2018), and Bharat (2019), where she worked alongside Salman Khan. Baaghi 2 was one of her biggest commercial hits.[3]
