Radhika Gupta was born on 14 September 1983 in Islamabad, Pakistan. Her father, Yogesh Gupta, served as an officer in the Indian Foreign Service. Because of her father's diplomatic career, Gupta spent much of her childhood living in different countries.

Her mother, Arti Gupta, worked as a school principal and played an important role in shaping Gupta’s educational journey.
