Amanjot Kaur (born 25 August 2000) is an Indian women’s international cricketer who plays as an all-rounder. Known for her composed batting and disciplined medium-pace bowling, she has emerged as a key contributor in India’s limited-overs setup and was part of the squad that won the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Early Life and Background

Amanjot Kaur was born in Mohali, Punjab, and grew up in a region with a strong cricketing culture. She began playing cricket at a young age, often competing in boys’ teams, which helped develop her competitive mindset and all-round skills.

She represented Punjab in domestic cricket during the 2017–18 and 2018–19 seasons before moving to the Chandigarh team from 2019 to 2021. Her consistent performances in domestic tournaments, especially in T20 cricket, highlighted her ability to contribute with both bat and ball.[1]

Domestic Career

Kaur’s domestic career has been marked by adaptability and steady improvement. After returning to the Punjab side in the 2022–23 season, she emerged as one of the team’s most reliable all-rounders. Her performances in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy and One Day competitions played a major role in earning her national selection.[2]

International Career

Amanjot Kaur made her T20 International debut on 19 January 2023 against South Africa. She announced herself at the international level with an unbeaten 41 on debut, guiding India to victory and earning the Player of the Match award.[3]

She made her One Day International debut on 16 July 2023 against Bangladesh, where she impressed with a four-wicket haul in her first match. These performances established her as a dependable all-round option for India in limited-overs cricket.[4]

She was later selected for India’s squads in major tournaments, including the Asian Games and the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Women’s Premier League

Amanjot Kaur represents the Mumbai Indians in the Women’s Premier League. Playing alongside experienced international cricketers, she gained valuable exposure to high-pressure franchise cricket. Her ability to contribute crucial runs, pick up timely wickets, and field athletically has made her a valuable asset for the franchise.[5]

2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup

Kaur was part of India’s historic 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup-winning squad. Throughout the tournament, she contributed with bat, ball, and in the field, playing an important supporting role in India’s campaign.

One of the memorable moments of the tournament came in the final, where her sharp fielding and a crucial catch in the closing stages underlined her impact in pressure situations.

Playing Style

Amanjot Kaur is a right-handed batter who prefers a steady, situational approach, complemented by the ability to accelerate when required. With the ball, she bowls right-arm medium pace, focusing on accuracy and variations rather than sheer speed.

Her all-round skill set provides balance to the team, making her effective in both middle-order batting and as a supporting bowler.

Outlook

As of late 2025, Amanjot Kaur remains a regular member of India’s limited-overs squads. With her maturity, adaptability, and consistent performances, she is regarded as one of the emerging all-rounders in Indian women’s cricket and a potential long-term asset for the national side.
