Early Life and Background

Kangana Ranaut was born in Bhambla (now Surajpur), a small town in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, into a Rajput family. Her father, Amardeep Ranaut, is a businessman, and her mother, Asha Ranaut, is a school teacher.

She completed her schooling at D.A.V. School in Chandigarh. Initially, her family wanted her to pursue a career in medicine, but she chose to follow her passion for acting and moved to Delhi. There, she started modeling and later joined theatre training before entering the film industry.[1]

Kangana began her acting career in 2006 with the film Gangster: A Love Story, directed by Anurag Basu. Her performance was widely appreciated, and she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.[2]

She then appeared in films such as Woh Lamhe (2006), Life in a Metro (2007), and Fashion (2008). Her role in Fashion earned her a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress.
