John Abraham (born 17 December 1972) is an Indian actor, producer and former model who works primarily in Hindi cinema. He made his film debut with Jism (2003) and gained widespread recognition for his role as the antagonist in Dhoom (2004). Over the years, he has established himself as an action star and film producer in Bollywood.

Early Life and Education

John Abraham was born in Mumbai to a Malayali father and a Parsi mother. His father, Abraham John, worked as an architect, and his mother, Firoza Irani, is a homemaker and social worker. He has a younger brother, Alan Abraham.

He studied at Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai. He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and later earned an MBA from Mumbai Educational Trust.[1]

Modeling Career

Before entering films, John Abraham worked as a model. In 1999, he won the Gladrags Manhunt Contest and later represented India at Manhunt International, where he secured a high placement. He modeled internationally in cities such as Hong Kong, London and New York.[2]

He appeared in several music videos and television commercials before transitioning to acting.

Acting Career

Debut and Breakthrough

John Abraham made his acting debut in Jism (2003). The film performed moderately well and earned him a nomination for Best Male Debut at the Filmfare Awards.[3]
