Isha Koppikar (born 19 September 1976) is an Indian actress, model, and politician who has worked in Hindi as well as South Indian films. She became widely known after her appearance in the song "Khallas" from the film Company, which gave her the nickname "Khallas Girl".

Early Life and Background

Isha Koppikar was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, into a Konkani family. She completed her graduation in Life Sciences from Ramnarain Ruia College.[1]

During her college days, she entered modeling and gained attention after a photoshoot with photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha. She later appeared in advertisements for brands like L'Oréal, Rexona, and Coca-Cola.

She also participated in the Miss India contest in 1995, where she won the Miss Talent title.[2]

Career

Isha started her acting career in South Indian films in the late 1990s. She appeared in Tamil films like En Swasa Kaatre, which brought her recognition.

She moved to Bollywood in the early 2000s. Her breakthrough came with the song "Khallas" in Company (2002), which made her very popular.

She appeared in films such as Pinjar (2003), which was critically acclaimed, and Qayamat (2003), where she played a negative role and received award nominations.

She also acted in Girlfriend (2004), a film that gained attention for its bold theme. Over the years, she appeared in various films in different roles, including supporting and lead characters.

Later, she also worked in web series and regional films and made appearances in television shows.

Political Career

In 2019, Isha Koppikar joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She became active in political activities and was appointed to roles related to women's development and public outreach.

Personal Life

Isha Koppikar married businessman Timmy Narang in 2009. The couple later separated and divorced in 2023. They have one daughter.

She is trained in Taekwondo and holds a black belt. She is also associated with social causes and animal rights activities.
