Ileana D'Cruz (born 1 November 1986) is an Indian actress who works mainly in Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil films. She made her debut with the Telugu film Devadasu (2006) and became popular after her role in Pokiri.

Early Life and Background

Ileana D'Cruz was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She belongs to a family with Goan roots. Her father, Ronaldo Leo, is a lawyer, and her mother, Sameera, is a homemaker.[1]

She has three sisters and two brothers. Her name was inspired by a character from Greek mythology.

She started her career in modeling and appeared in several advertisements, including a well-known Fair and Lovely advertisement.[2]

Career

Ileana made her acting debut with the Telugu film Devadasu (2006), directed by Y. V. S. Chowdhary. The film was a commercial success and brought her recognition.[3]

Her breakthrough came with Pokiri (2006), where she acted opposite Mahesh Babu. The film became a major success and helped her become a leading actress in Telugu cinema.

She later appeared in Tamil films like Kedi and continued working mainly in Telugu films.

In 2012, she made her Hindi film debut with Barfi!, which was well received. She later appeared in successful Hindi films such as Main Tera Hero (2014), Rustom (2016), and Raid (2018).
