Development

In August 2023, the final script for *De De Pyaar De 2* was completed by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain. In March 2024, the sequel was officially announced with Anshul Sharma taking over the director’s chair from Akiv Ali. Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh reprise their roles, while R. Madhavan joins the cast, replacing Anil Kapoor as Ayesha’s father.[2]

The film’s choreography is handled by Raju Khan, and the screenplay continues the blend of humor and emotion that defined the original.

Filming

Principal photography began in June 2024 at Mehboob Studio, Mumbai. Later schedules were shot across Punjab and London. After a temporary delay due to director Anshul Sharma’s dengue recovery, filming concluded in February 2025 with a wrap-up in Chandigarh.[3]

Soundtrack

The film’s soundtrack features compositions by Yo Yo Honey Singh, Jaani, Aditya Dev–Payal Dev, Avvy Sra, and Sagar Bhatia. The background score has been composed by Hitesh Sonik.

The first single, *“Raat Bhar”*, sung by Aditya Rikhari and Payal Dev, marked Rikhari’s Bollywood debut and was released on 22 October 2025.
