Edward Christopher Sheeran (born February 17, 1991) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. He is one of the most successful music artists of his generation and is known for blending pop, folk, and acoustic styles.
His debut album + (2011) reached number one in the UK. It included the hit song The A Team. His second album × (2014) gained global success. The song Thinking Out Loud won two Grammy Awards.
His third album ÷ (2017) became the best-selling album of the year. Songs like Shape of You and Castle on the Hill broke streaming records. The single Perfect reached number one in many countries.
He later released No.6 Collaborations Project (2019), = (2021), − (2023), and Autumn Variations (2023). In 2025, he released Play.[1]
Sheeran has sold over 200 million records worldwide. He has won multiple awards including Grammy Awards and Brit Awards.
Early life
Ed Sheeran was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk.
He learned guitar at a young age and began writing songs as a child. He attended Thomas Mills High School and later joined the National Youth Theatre in London.[2]

2004–2010: Beginning
Sheeran started recording music in 2004 and released early independent projects. He moved to London in 2008 and performed in small venues.
He gained attention through YouTube and independent releases, building a fan base before signing with a label.
