Edward Christopher Sheeran (born February 17, 1991) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. He is one of the most successful music artists of his generation and is known for blending pop, folk, and acoustic styles.

His debut album + (2011) reached number one in the UK. It included the hit song The A Team. His second album × (2014) gained global success. The song Thinking Out Loud won two Grammy Awards.

His third album ÷ (2017) became the best-selling album of the year. Songs like Shape of You and Castle on the Hill broke streaming records. The single Perfect reached number one in many countries.

Early life

Ed Sheeran was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk.

He learned guitar at a young age and began writing songs as a child. He attended Thomas Mills High School and later joined the National Youth Theatre in London.[2]
