Jelena Noura "Gigi" Hadid (born April 23, 1995) is an American fashion model and television personality. She is regarded as one of the most successful supermodels of her generation and has appeared on more than 50 international editions of Vogue magazine. Since 2017, she has consistently ranked among the world's highest-paid fashion models.

Hadid began modeling as a child for Baby Guess before signing with IMG Models in 2013. She quickly became a global fashion icon, walking for leading luxury brands including Versace, Chanel, Fendi, Tommy Hilfiger, Balmain, and Marc Jacobs. She is also widely recognized as a global ambassador for Maybelline and the founder of the clothing brand Guest in Residence.

Early Life and Education

Gigi Hadid was born in Los Angeles, California, to real-estate developer Mohamed Hadid and former model Yolanda Hadid. She has two younger siblings, Bella Hadid and Anwar Hadid, who are also successful fashion models. She graduated from Malibu High School before briefly studying criminal psychology at The New School in New York City, later leaving to pursue modeling full-time.

Career

Hadid's modeling career began at the age of two after being discovered by Guess co-founder Paul Marciano. She officially joined IMG Models in 2013 and made her New York Fashion Week debut in 2014.

Over the years, she has modeled for major fashion houses including Chanel, Versace, Fendi, Tommy Hilfiger, Balmain, Max Mara, Moschino, and Miu Miu. She has appeared on the covers of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Allure, and several other international fashion magazines.

Apart from modeling, Hadid has hosted television events, appeared in music videos, co-hosted Netflix's Next in Fashion, and launched her luxury knitwear label Guest in Residence in 2022.

Personal Life

Hadid has been open about living with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and has supported several humanitarian causes through UNICEF and other charitable organizations. She is a strong supporter of Palestinian relief efforts and has participated in campaigns for children's welfare, disaster relief, and education.

She has one daughter with singer Zayn Malik. Since 2023, she has been in a relationship with actor Bradley Cooper.

Awards and Recognition

In 2016, Hadid received the International Model of the Year award from the British Fashion Council. She has also won several fashion awards and is regularly listed among the world's most influential and highest-paid models.
