Anandajit Goswami
Anandajit Goswami (born 22 June 1980) is an Indian economist, academic, researcher, and entrepreneur known for his work in development economics, energy policy, and sustainability. He has been associated with Ashoka University and Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, and is the founder of the TOHRI Foundation.[1]
Early life and education
Anandajit Goswami was born in Kolkata, India. He completed his Master’s in International Trade and Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and earned a PhD in Energy Economics from the TERI School of Advanced Studies. His research focuses on development economics, energy policy, and climate change.[2]
Career
Goswami serves as Professor and Director at Manav Rachna Educational Institutions and is associated with the Manav Rachna Centre for Peace and Sustainability. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Ashoka Centre for People-centric Energy Transition, Ashoka University.
He has contributed to research projects supported by organisations such as UNCTAD, UKAID, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank. He has also provided policy inputs to the Government of India, NITI Aayog, and state governments on energy transition and sustainability.[3]
Publications
Goswami has authored 13 fiction books and published over 50 research papers in international journals. He also serves on editorial and review boards related to energy and sustainability studies.[4]
Philanthropy
Through the TOHRI Foundation, he works on social empowerment, education, and sustainability initiatives. The organisation has received recognition for its work in community development.[1]
